Disruption - A Keyword to Remember in Online Marketing


With the advent of Web 2.0 and its unknown future, there's one thing marketers can be fairly certain of to happen: disruption. The landscape is fragmenting and markets are splicing (i.e. Web widgets). Variations on
old strategies are being introduced to remedy this. One being personal start pages. This concept looks very similar to the old portal page strategy: create a centralized page to be a one-stop viewing lens for the user. Companies who have a strategy in place to become a specialized information aggregator may gain a step on those who are not aware of the disruptive nature that is going on in this space we call "Web 2.0".
